In the heart of Södermalm, the historic building at Björngårdsgatan 23—originally built in memory of King Oscar I—has reopened as Stockholm Stadshotell, a Relais & Châteaux hotel. After years of vacancy, the site has been carefully restored with attention to craft and character.
Danish Anker&Co has developed a lighting design that supports the building’s warm, lived-in atmosphere. In the restaurant and bar, fixtures from Saas Instruments—including Power Focus, Blaze Pivot, and LED strips from the Superior line—enhance the intimate setting. In the rooms and suites, compact luminaires like Posh Hidden and Step+ provide discreet, functional lighting that complements the timeless interior.
